Cumplidas las prescripciones del artículo 78, los funcionarios de Policía Judicial que decomisen droga que produce dependencia, la depositarán, dentro del término de la distancia en sus oficinas más cercanas, y en lo posible, dentro de las cajas fuertes; en todo caso, se utilizarán empaques que serán lacrados, sellados y firmados por quienes intervengan en la diligencia y el agente del Ministerio Público dejará constancia cuando se abran, de que tales paquetes permanecieron inalterados.
