1.° Las Provincias mencionadas subsistirán como tales en el nuevo Departamento que por esta Ley queda erigido, y tendrán como capitales, respectivamente, las ciudades de San José de Cúcuta, Ocaña y Pamplona.

2.° La porción de territorio de la cual se segregan las Provincias mencionadas en este artículo, conservarán el nombre de Departamento de Santander.
