La radiodifusión sonora es un servicio público de telecomunicaciones, a cargo y bajo la titularidad del Estado, orientado a satisfacer necesidades de telecomunicaciones de los habitantes del territorio nacional y cuyas emisiones de destinan a ser recibidas por el público en general.

Decreto 1447 de 1995 · por el cual se reglamenta la concesión del servicio de radiodifusión sonora en gestión directa e indirecta, se define el Plan General de Radiodifusión Sonora y se determinan los criterios y conceptos tarifarios y las sanciones aplicables al servicio.
