Para ser Director General del Instituto Nacional de Medicina Legal y Ciencias Forenses, se requiere título profesional, especialización y acreditar ejercicio profesional mínimo por ocho (8) años o cátedra universitaria por el mismo tiempo en establecimiento reconocido oficialmente.
El Director General será nombrado por el Fiscal General de la Nación.
