Para ser elegido alcalde distrital se requiere ser ciudadano colombiano en ejercicio y haber nacido o ser residente en el respectivo distrito o de la correspondiente área metropolitana durante un (1) año anterior a la fecha de la inscripción o durante un período mínimo de tres (3) años consecutivos en cualquier época.
