La presente ley tiene por objeto vincular a la Nación en la conmemoración del Bicentenario de la Batalla de Bomboná: 7 de abril de 1822-2022, se rinda un homenaje público y se realice unos reconocimientos de carácter académico, histórico, cultural, social, educativo y ambiental a la región de impacto. En razón a que esta batalla significó la pacificación del sur de Colombia, los departamentos de Nariño y Cauca; así como también la región amazónica y del pacífico sur colombiano.
