Para ser notario en los círculos de segunda categoría, además de las calidades generales, se requiere en forma alternativa: 1º Siendo abogado titulado, haber sido notario durante dos años; o haber ejercido la judicatura, o el profesorado universitario en derecho, al menos por tres años; o haber ejercido la profesión con buen crédito por término no menor de 5 años; o haber tenido practica notarial o registral por espacio de cuatro años. 2º. No siendo abogado, haber ejercido el cargo en círculo de igual o superior categoría durante seis años, o en uno de inferior categoría por el término no menor de 9 años.
