La presente ley tiene por objeto dictar disposiciones que otorguen herramientas a las Comisarías de Familia para gestionar su diseño institucional y para facilitar, ampliar y garantizar el acceso a la justicia por medio de la atención especializada e interdisciplinaria, con el fin de prevenir, proteger, restablecer, reparar y garantizar los derechos de quienes estén en riesgo, sean o hayan sido víctimas de violencia por razones de género en el contexto familiar y víctimas de otras violencias en el contexto familiar, según lo establecido en la presente ley.
