Definición. La Carrera Docente es el régimen legal que ampara le ejercicio de la profesión docente en el sector oficial, garantiza la estabilidad de dichos educadores en el empleo, les otorga el derecho a la profesionalización, actualización y capacitación permanente, establece el número de grados del Escalafón Docente y regula las condiciones de inscripción, ascenso y permanezca dentro del mismo, así como la promoción a los cargos directivos de carácter docente.
