Llámanse recompensas militares las cantidades de dinero que se conceden por una sola vez á los miembros del Ejército y de la Armada de la República, como premio de actos ejecutados en servicio de la patria; y son pensiones militares las cantidades que se suministran de por vida y periódicamente a la misma clase de individuos, en atención al tiempo que hayan servido.
