Son de interés nacional y, por lo tanto, de prioridad con respecto a todos los planes de los organismos <deportivos, las selecciones deportivas nacionales reconocidas como tales por el Instituto Colombiano de la Juventud y el Deporte (Coldeportes) previa solicitud escrita y motivada de la federación respectiva, cuando representen al país en competiciones o eventos deportivos internacionales, caso en el cual se considerarán, como delegaciones oficiales del Gobierno Nacional.
