ARTICULO 11 . El personal de máquinas está constituido por los tripulantes cuyas actividades están directamente relacionadas con la operación, mantenimiento y conservación de la maquinaria propulsora y auxiliar, encuéntrese instalada dentro de la sala principal de máquinas, o fuera de ella. Este personal depende directamente del Maquinista Jefe y comprende, tanto al personal de propulsión como al personal auxiliar de ingeniería (electricistas, mecánicos de refrigeración, etc.) y los mecánicos de cubierta.
