El Gobierno Nacional construirá en la ciudad de Santa Fe de Bogotá, lugar de nacimiento del doctor Alvaro Gómez Hurtado, una biblioteca especializada en periodismo y desarrollo económico, que comprenderá además una pinacoteca y un conservatorio de música. La biblioteca llevara su nombre y en su pórtico se levantará su estatua.
