El Director podrá ser retirado del cargo, por el Presidente de la República, antes del vencimiento del período señalado por renuncia, por retiro con derecho a jubilación, por incapacidad permanente y cuando a juicio del Consejo Nacional de Televisión, en decisión tomada por mayoría absoluta, se configure una situación que amerite la separación del cargo.
