Para ejercer la medicina de la República de Colombia, en cualquier forma o por cualquier sistema, es obligatorio poseer un diploma de doctor en medicina expedido por una Facultad oficial de las establecidas o que se establezca en el la República, salvo en las circunstancias que adelante se expresan:
