Toda nave o artefacto naval con registro y matrícula colombiana debe izar, en lugar visible, el pabellón nacional y llevará su nombre marcado en los lugares en que disponga la reglamentación que emitirá la Dirección General Marítima. En la popa llevará, además, el nombre del puerto de registro. Lo anterior, sin perjuicio de lo que dispongan los tratados, convenios, acuerdos y prácticas, celebrados o acogidos por el país, para tal efecto.
