La acreditación es un proceso voluntario y periódico mediante el cual una institución prestadora de servicios de salud obtiene del organismo acreditador el reconocimiento público de que ha superado los requisitos mínimos de calidad exigidos por la ley en los servicios que presta sus usuarios.
