Todo instrumento negociable es pagadero en e1 tiempo fijado en él, sin plazo de gracia. Cuando el vencimiento cae en domingo o día feriado, debe pagarse al siguiente día útil.

Cuando el vencimiento cae en sábado, debe presentarse para el pago en el próximo día útil; pero los instrumentos pagaderos a su presentación pueden, a elección del tenedor, ser presentados para el pago antes del medio día del sábado, cuando todo el día no sea feriado.
