De conformidad con los artículos 43 45 del Decreto-ley 80 de 1980, el Instituto Tecnológico "Pascual Bravo" es una institución Tecnológica.

Parágrafo

El Instituto, previa autorización del Gobierno Nacional, podrá celebrar contratos y convenios con la Nación por intermedio del Ministerio de Educación Nacional, para administrar los programas de educación básica secundaria y media vocacional que actualmente ofrece, con el fin de lograr una óptima utilización de sus recursos.
