º Son funciones de la Comisión Nacional de Investigación Agropecuaria, Forestal y Pesquera

Asesorar al Ministerio de Agricultura en la formulación de las políticas sobre investigación y transferencia de tecnología agropecuaria.

Colaborar con el Ministerio y el Departamento Nacional de Planeación en el estudio y formulación del Plan Nacional de Investigación Agropecuaria que deberá realizarse teniendo en cuenta el documento "Base para el Plan Nacional de Investigación del Sector Agropecuario, Forestal y Pesquero", aprobado por el CONPES.

Coordinar la elaboración del proyecto de ley destinado a establecer el sistema nacional de investigación agropecuaria, forestal y pesquera y siguiendo los planteamientos y objetivos establecidos en el Plan Nacional de Investigación Agropecuaria.

Las demás que le señale el Ministerio de Agricultura.
