Cuando sea preciso hacer notificación personal de una providencia, y la persona a quien deba hacerse se halle ausente, y la persona a quien deba hacerse se halle ausente y se sepa el lugar de su paradero, se comisionará para la notificación al Juez de la residencia. Pero si no se supiere el paradero o se ocultare, o estuviere en el extranjero, previa comprobación sumaria de este hecho, se le nombrará curador que lo represente en la notificación y procedimiento subsiguiente.

Lo dicho se entiende no habiendo disposición especial que disponga otra cosa.
