Si en desarrollo del plan general de urbanización fuere necesario demoler edificaciones, los propietarios respectivos recibirán la correspondiente indemnización legal en dinero o en una nueva edificación a opción del propietario. En este último caso la diferencia que resultare en contra del propietario y a favor del Gobierno será cubierta por el sistema de amortización de que trata el artículo 1° de la Ley 61 de 1936 . Del mismo modo se procederá cuando hayan de hacerse simples reformas a las actuales edificaciones.
