Artículo sexto. Las empresas o patronos obligados al reconocimiento y pago de las pensiones de que trata el artículo 8°de la Ley 10ª de 1972 deberán cancelar dichas obligaciones dentro de los noventa (90) días siguientes a la fecha en que el derecho se haya acreditado legalmente. Si transcurrido ese término, la empresa o patrono obligada ... hubiere satisfecho lo ordenado en el presente artículo deberá pagar al beneficiario, además de las mesadas pensionales vencidas, una indemnización equivalente al salario que aquel venía devengando, hasta el día en que el pago se efectúe.
