Circunstancias de orden económico. Son circunstancias de orden económico, que pueden motivar el control, aquellas determinadas por la necesidad de prevenir o controlar plagas que afecten las actividades agropecuarias.

Anualmente el Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible, y el Instituto Colombiano Agropecuario (ICA), y las entidades que tengan a su cargo la administración del recurso a nivel regional, harán un estudio conjunto para planificar el control que corresponda adelantar según la época del año, las regiones y los cultivos, y la coordinación de sus actividades para la ejecución del plan.
