Las encomiendas admitidas y despachadas por error, se excluirán del transporte inmediatamente que aquel sea notado y se conservarán cuidadosamente en la próxima estafeta si se establece que se trata de materias explosivas, inflamables o peligrosas. La respectiva estafeta avisará telegráficamente el hecho a la agencia postal o administración de correos de que dependa, para obtener sin demora instrucciones acerca del manejo ulterior de la encomienda o encomiendas retenidas. Por regla general las materias prenombradas deben ser destruidas en el lugar de su detención.
