Ley 490 de 1998 · por la cual se transforma la Caja Nacional de Previsión Social de Establecimiento Público en Empresa Industrial y Comercial del Estado y se dictan otras disposiciones.

La Caja Nacional de Previsión Social, en su naturaleza jurídica de Empresa Industrial y Comercial del Estado, operará en el campo de la salud como Entidad Promotora de Salud (E.P.S.), y podrá también desarrollar y administrar otras prestaciones económicas y de salud, así como servicios complementarios en los términos de la Ley 100 de 1993 .

La Caja Nacional de Previsión Social diseñará, estructurará, organizará, cofinanciará y atenderá el programa de bienestar social de los pensionados y de la tercera edad afiliados a esta Empresa.
