Funciones del Invemar en el SIRH. Al Invemar en el marco de sus competencias, le corresponde:

Diseñar, elaborar y proponer al Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible los procedimientos para el desarrollo y operación del SIRH en lo relacionado con el medio costero y marino, que incluirán, al menos, las variables, metodologías, protocolos, indicadores y responsables;

Coordinar y efectuar el monitoreo y seguimiento del recurso hídrico marino y costero que alimentará el SIRH;

Apoyar a las autoridades ambientales regionales con competencia en aguas costeras y marinas.
