Art. 1557. Para que el deudor quede libre, debe pagar o ejecutar en su totalidad una de las cosas que alternativamente deba; i no puede obligar al acreedor a que acepte parte de una i parte de otra.

La elección es del deudor, a menos que se haia pactado lo contrario.
