Los laboratorios de citohistopatología públicos y privados de las IPS, según su grado de complejidad, deben realizar los exámenes de detección o de diagnóstico que se requieran para facilitar la acción local de vigilancia en salud pública, las acciones de prevención y control de enfermedades y el control oportuno de brotes y epidemias.
