De conformidad con el artículo 7 de la Ley 141 de 1994, la Comisión Nacional de Regalías, tiene entre sus objetos y dentro de los términos y parámetros establecidos en la mencionada ley, controlar y vigilar la correcta utilización de los recursos provenientes de regalías y compensaciones causadas por la explotación de recursos naturales no renovables de propiedad del Estado.
