El contenido de la presente ley y de las disposiciones que la complementen o adicionen, se interpretarán y ejecutarán teniendo presente el respeto y garantías al derecho a la vida, preservando el criterio según el cual la tarea fundamental de las autoridades de salud será lograr la prevención, la detección temprana, el tratamiento oportuno y adecuado y la rehabilitación del paciente.
