La carrera notarial tiene por objeto mejorar el ejercicio de la función notarial, seleccionar los notarios mediante la comprobación de su capacidad intelectual, moral y física y garantizar su estabilidad en el empleo y promoción o ascenso. Para el ingreso y permanencia en al carrera no podrá hacerse distinción alguna por razón de raza, sexo, estado civil, credo religioso o filiación política.
