La pena de multa se convertirá en la de arresto, y a razón de un día por cada 4 pesos cuando el individuo penado no la consignare en la respectiva oficina de a Hacienda dentro de las cuarenta y ocho horas siguientes a aquella en la que se le hubiere hecho la notificación de la sentencia del tribunal o del Consejo de Estado de que se habla los artículos subsiguientes.
