El optómetra podrá ser auxiliar de la justicia en los casos que señala la ley como perito expresamente designado para ello, en una u otra condición, el optómetra cumplirá su deber teniendo en cuenta su profesión, la importancia de la tarea que la sociedad le encomienda como experto y la búsqueda de la verdad y sólo la verdad.
