El control de la gestión fiscal de las Intendencias y Comisarías y sus municipios corresponde exclusivamente a la Contraloría General de la República, que lo ejercerá por intermedio de sus delegados y con base en estatutos acordes con el régimen administrativo señalado en la ley.

Ley 22 de 1985 · por la cual se dictan normas sobre el Régimen Administrativo de las Intendencias y Comisarías, se faculta al Presidente de la República para reorganizar el Departamento Administrativo de Intendencias y Comisarías, modificar el Régimen Administrativo, Contractual y Fiscal en estas entidades territoriales y se dictan otras disposiciones.
