El Ministerio de Defensa Nacional, a través de la Fuerza Aérea Colombiana, perfeccionará los sistemas de control del espacio aéreo nacional, mediante la utilización de equipos de radar tridimensional, en forma tal que se amplíe la cobertura del servicio y se complemente el sistema actual, para lo cual dichos equipos serán operados conjuntamente por la Fuerza Aérea Colombiana y el Departamento Administrativo de Aeronáutica Civil.
