El protesto puede Ser dispensado por cualesquiera circunstancias que dispensen el aviso del rechazo. La demora en dar el aviso o en protestar se excusa cuando es causada por circunstancias ajenas a la voluntad del tenedor y no imputables a culpa, mala conducta a negligencia de éste. Cuando haya desaparecido la causa de la demora, la letra debe ser protestada razonable diligencia.
