La Medalla “Santa Barbará” categoría única, creada en la Escuela de Artillería mediante la Orden del Día número 096 para el 10 de septiembre de 1963 y aprobada por el Comando del Ejército con Oficio número 41991-CE-E1-184 de octubre de 1963, y reglamentada por el Decreto 1880 de 1988, para acrecentar el espíritu de cuerpo, compañerismo y estimular a quienes hayan prestado eminentes servicios al Arma de Artillería, a juicio del Consejo de la Medalla.
