De la estructura para la planificación, ordenación y manejo de cuencas hidrográficas y acuíferos. Se establece la siguiente estructura hidrográfica:

Áreas Hidrográficas o Macrocuencas.

Zonas Hidrográficas.

Subzonas Hidrográficas o su nivel subsiguiente.

Microcuencas y Acuíferos.

Parágrafo

El Instituto de Hidrología, Meteorología y Estudios Ambientales (Ideam), oficializará el mapa de Zonificación Hidrográfica de Colombia a escala 1:500.000, relacionando las Áreas Hidrográficas, Zonas Hidrográficas y Subzonas Hidrográficas, con su respectiva delimitación geográfica, hidrografía, nombre y código.
