º. Los bancos comerciales y demás instituciones financieras extranjeros, distintas al sector de los seguros, no se regirán por lo dispuesto en el artículo 42 del Capítulo III del Decreto-ley 1900 de 1973. Podrá admitirse nueva inversión extranjera directa en bancos comerciales y demás instituciones financieras en las condiciones que para el efecto establezca el Gobierno Nacional. En tal virtud, los bancos extranjeros no estarán obligados a sujetarse a lo ordenado en el artículo 42 del Capítulo III del Decreto-ley 1900 de 1973.
