Es de cargo de esta Academia la formación del inventario histórico y artístico de las obras de arte existentes en la Nación, como también el cuidado de los monumentos públicos y de las bellezas naturales del país; en lo que procederá conforme a las disposiciones de las autoridades respectivas, y de acuerdo con la Academia Colombiana de Historia.
