º Para poder ejercer la profesión se requiere haber obtenido titulo en la modalidad de formación universitaria en Bibliotecología, haber efectuado el registro del título ante la autoridad competente y haber obtenido la matrícula profesional expedida por el Consejo Nacional de Bibliotecología. La matrícula profesional, mientras esté vigente, habilita para el ejercicio de la profesión en todo el territorio colombiano, con las limitaciones establecidas en la ley y en la Constitución Nacional.
