PROCEDIMIENTO EN CASO DE DESAPARECIMIENTO. Cuando un Oficial a Suboficial de la Policía Nacional, en servicio activo, desaparezca en las circunstancias previstas en el artículo 181 del Decreto número 2062 de 1984, se procederá de la siguiente manera

a)

Transcurridos treinta (30) días de la última noticia del desaparecido, el Comandante o Jefe de la respectiva Unidad o repartición, designará un funcionario para que adelante la investigación;

b)

El funcionario instructor, dentro de un término no mayor de ocho (8) días hábiles, practicará las diligencias que considere pertinentes, para determinar las circunstancias en que tuvo ocurrencia la desaparición;

c)

Vencido el término a que se refiere el literal anterior, el instructor remitirá el Informativo al Superior que ordenó la investigación, quien deberá emitir concepto dentro de los tres (3) días siguientes al recibo de las diligencias.
