Son funciones del Servicio Aéreo Territorios Nacionales "Satena":

Prestar el servicio de transporte aéreo en las regiones subdesarrolladas del país;

Colaborar en las campañas asistenciales, de incremento agrícola y pecuario, de colonización y fomento económico y social de tales territorios, de acuerdo con los prospectos del Gobierno;

Vincular a la economía nacional apartadas regiones del país;

Transportar funcionarios públicos y pasajeros, correo y carga oficial y particular.
