Corresponde al Juez la dirección de la audiencia pública. En el curso de ella tendrá amplias facultades para suscitar los careos que crea oportunos; para exigir a los testigos o peritos las relaciones o dictámenes que considere necesarias, para practicar las diligencias que estime convenientes al mejor esclarecimiento de los hechos y para aceptar o rechazar, según su conducencia, las peticiones o interpelaciones propuestas por las partes.
