Objeto. La carrera notarial tiene por objeto mejorar el servicio en la función notarial, seleccionar los notarios mediante la comprobación de su capacidad intelectual y moral, garantizar su estabilidad en el cargo y su promoción o ascenso.
Para el ingreso y permanencia en la carrera no podrá hacerse distingo alguno por razón de raza, sexo, estado civil, religión o filiación política.
