El Montepío Militar por virtud de la presente Ley tendrá el carácter de caja de ahorros para los herederos de los Generales, Jefes y Oficiales del Ejército y de la Marina de Guerra que hayan contribuido para la institución. Todos los fondos del Montepío existentes desde que empezó a funcionar hasta el 1.° de Agosto de 1904 se considerarán como capital inicial del establecimiento, y los ingresos desde esa fecha en adelante servirán para la formación de la caja de ahorros militares.
