º En ejercicio de las facultades de inspección y vigilancia que sobre las instituciones de utilidad común le confiere el numeral 19 del artículo 120 de la Constitución Política al Presidente de la República, podrán decretarse visitas de inspección en orden a asegurar que las mismas cumplan la voluntad de los fundadores, conserven e inviertan debidamente sus rentas y se ajusten en su formación y funcionamiento a las leyes y decretos y observen normalmente sus propios estatutos.
