Una vez dispuesta la creación del nuevo municipio conforme al procedimiento definido en la presente ley, la asamblea departamental deberá informar de dicha decisión al Gobierno nacional, para que coordine y solicite la inclusión del mismo en el Presupuesto General de la Nación y en el Plan de Desarrollo correspondiente.
