La función básica de la Fiscalía General de la Nación es la investigación de los delitos y acusación de los presuntos infractores Las dependencias administrativas y de Policía Judicial pertenecientes a la Fiscalía, tienen como propósito exclusivo apoyar el ejercicio de esta función. Sus actuaciones serán dirigidas por los Directores de la Fiscalía en los distintos niveles de la organización CAPITULO SEGUNDO DEL PRINCIPIO DE LEGALIDAD
